While you're away

Keep your hero hunting after you log out, manage the Autoplay Time gauge, and bring another of your heroes into your party.

In the online world, your hero can keep playing after you close the game. It stays in the world on Full auto and hands you what it earned when you come back. This page explains how that works and what it costs.

The Autoplay Time gauge

Full auto runs on Autoplay Time. While Full auto is on, a thin gauge appears above your skill bar. Hover over it to see the time left.

There are four ways to fill it:

SourceAddsFills up toWhere
Daily login4 hours, once a dayThe 16-hour markAutomatic when you log in
Silver Sandglass30 minutesThe 16-hour markGeneral traders, 30 silver, up to 8 a day
Golden Sandglass (30 min)30 minutes24 hoursItem shop, 1 gold coin
Golden Sandglass (60 min)60 minutes24 hoursItem shop, 2 gold coins

To use a sandglass, open the Full auto options with the gear button above AUTO, and press the Use button, which names the sandglass it will use. It takes a silver sandglass first while you're below the mark, then a 60-minute golden one, then a 30-minute one. With none in the bag, it offers to buy a golden one. Time above the 16-hour mark is spent first.

The day resets at midnight, Rome time (00:00 Europe/Rome), for the login reward and the shop limits alike.

Setting up before you log out

  1. Go where you want your hero to hunt. Pick a spot where monsters come close and you can survive without help.
  2. Open the Full auto options and choose the skills it may use. Fear and Stealth are never used automatically.
  3. Turn on Always Auto-Revive if you have Revive Potions and want your hero to get back up when it falls.
  4. Stock health and mana potions in the bag.
  5. Switch to FULL with Z or the AUTO button, and let it play for a few minutes so the server learns how fast it kills there.
  6. Log out, or close the tab, while still on Full auto.

If you log out on Full auto with more than a minute of Autoplay Time left, your hero stays in the world.

What your hero does while you're gone

Your hero becomes an offline hero. Other players see it standing where you left it.

It leaves the world when the gauge runs out, when it falls without a way back up, or when you log back in.

Soft simulation

When nobody else is on your hero's copy of the map, the server doesn't play out every swing. It works your hero's earnings out from the rate it measured while you played: kills per minute for each kind of monster. It is never more than that rate, and never more kills than the map's monsters can respawn. Drops are still rolled one kill at a time on the real drop tables, and potions and falls are counted too.

If you didn't play on Full auto long enough for a rate to be measured, your hero earns only what it really kills.

The server also sleeps when nobody is online. When it wakes, it works out the time it slept the same way, so your offline hero loses nothing to the pause.

Coming back

When you log in again, your offline hero leaves the world and you take over where it stood. Everything it earned is already on your hero: experience, coins and items. A message sums it up: how long you were away, how many kills, and the coins earned.

If you log in on another device while your hero is out, the offline hero stops at once.

Summoning another hero with a Heavenly Pass

Your account has four hero slots. A Heavenly Pass brings one of your other heroes into your party as a companion that fights beside you.

  1. Be in a party with a free slot. A party holds 8, and summoned heroes count.
  2. Have a Heavenly Pass in your bag (item shop, 3 gold coins).
  3. Open the Party window (P). Under Summon, press the name of the hero to bring.

The summoned hero:

Press its name again (with the cross) to send it away. It leaves the party and goes back to its own slot.

When you log out, a summoned hero with Autoplay Time on its own gauge stays on as an offline hero, guarding where you left it. One without time leaves. When you come back, your summoned heroes return to your side without another pass, as long as the party still lists them. If you log in to a summoned hero yourself, it stays in the party and you play it.

What a summoned hero earns waits for it, and is handed over the next time you play that hero, like any offline hero's earnings.

A note on parties while you're away

Being offline is not leaving a party. A temporary party ends an hour after its last member went offline. A permanent party ends after 48 hours with nobody online. See Parties and guilds.

Production on your land parcel also goes on while you're away, worked by your bots. See Lands, gardens and alchemy.
