Item shop and premium

What gold coins and Ember coins are, how you get them, and what the item shop sells for them.

Embervale has two premium currencies: the gold coin, which can be bought, and the Ember coin, which can only be earned. This page explains what they buy and how buying gold coins works.

Gold coins

Gold coins are separate from the copper and silver you earn by playing. Monsters never drop them. You get them by:

Gold coins belong to the hero, like copper and silver. A pack you buy goes to the hero you are playing when you buy it.

Your gold coins show at the left of the purse bar. Pressing them opens the Gold coins and item shop window, and so does the item shop button in the bar. You can also reach it from the purse in the bag.

Ember coins

Ember coins are the second premium currency. They are never sold for money and can't be traded between players. You get them by:

Ember coins belong to the hero, like gold coins, and show beside them in the purse bar. Some item shop offers are priced in Ember coins instead of gold coins: each offer is priced in one or the other, never both.

Gold packs

PackPrice
100 gold coins4.99 EUR or USD
550 gold coins24.99 EUR or USD
1,200 gold coins49.99 EUR or USD
2,600 gold coins99.99 EUR or USD

The larger packs include bonus coins: 10%, 20% and 30% more than buying 100 at a time.

To buy, press a pack in the Gold coins and item shop window. You pay through the payment provider's own checkout page, and the coins arrive on your hero once the payment is confirmed. Each payment is credited once.

If a payment is refunded, the coins it bought are taken back from the hero, even if that leaves the hero below zero. A chargeback also restricts the account straight away. Gold packs are only sold in the online world. When purchases are not open, the window says so.

The item shop

The item shop sells for gold coins, with no daily limit. Offers priced in Ember coins show the Ember coin instead; the item pages of the wiki show each item's price.

Using what you bought

What is free to earn

Nearly everything the item shop sells also comes from play:

The item shop has no gear and no upgrade boosts. Upgrade chances at the blacksmith are the same for everyone.

Premium items and trading

Experience Tickets (2 gold coins), Soul Stones (5 gold coins) and Scrolls of Clarity (1 gold coin) bought in the shop can be traded to other players, and Revive Potions for 8 silver. The same items received as a reward can't be traded. Golden sandglasses can change hands once, within 30 days of being made.

What "premium" means in the game

There is no subscription. Where the game marks something as premium, it means it uses something from the item shop:
